Similarly, other studies indicate that mango helps manage glucose levels in healthy individuals (2). Therefore, in relation to blood sugar, the consumption of this fruit can be beneficial in preventing excessively high glucose levels as well as in the natural treatment of this problem.

2- Blood pressure management
Since mangoes are rich in magnesium and potassium, and contain little sodium, they are effective in lowering blood pressure, the most common cardiovascular disease.

3- Good for brain health
Mangoes are full of vitamin B6, which makes them an excellent food for brain health. Indeed, this vitamin plays an important role in maintaining brain functions, and could even improve them: vitamin B6 (and other B vitamins) maintain the proper functioning of neurotransmitters (3), help manage moods and promote quality sleep.

4- May protect against age-related macular degeneration
Mango is a source of zeaxanthin, an antioxidant that filters out harmful UV rays and thus protects eye health and proper functioning. Thus, mangoes could also be used to prevent age-related macular degeneration.

5- Good for bone health
Mangoes contain vitamin K, essential for bone health because it allows the body to absorb calcium: indeed, vitamin K deficiencies are linked to higher risks of bone fracture. In addition, mango also contains calcium (4), necessary for bone formation, and therefore has all the qualities required to ensure bone health!

6- Reduced risk of heart disease
Mangoes are a source of pectin, a soluble fiber that helps naturally lower cholesterol levels. Thus, in addition to their qualities in fighting blood pressure, mangoes manage to prevent two of the biggest pathologies related to heart disease.

7- Cancer prevention
The pectin found in mangoes is not only useful against cholesterol, but also in the prevention of prostate cancer, as is the beta-carotene they contain (5). In addition, studies suggest that this fruit could also be effective against breast cancer (6).

8- Natural treatment of anemia
Mangoes also contain iron, and could therefore effectively combat iron deficiencies and anemia. Moreover, the richness in vitamin C of mango makes this fruit very favorable for a better absorption of iron of plant origin.

9- Anti-aging capabilities
Mangoes help slow down the aging process thanks to their vitamins A and C, which help the body produce collagen. Collagen helps slow down skin aging, promotes the health of blood vessels and body tissues. Similarly, vitamins A and C are antioxidants, which fight deterioration caused by free radicals and protect the body against the harmful effects of oxidative stress.

10- Supports immune defenses
The beta-carotene present in mangoes boosts the defenses of the immune system (7), which is the first barrier of our body against diseases and is therefore essential to stay in shape. Similarly, the antioxidants in mangoes are also central for good health.

11- Improved digestion
A study has proven that mango has impressive effects in relieving chronic constipation problems (8). Participants also had better amounts of essential fatty acids (omega-3 and omega-6) and also showed other signs of better digestive health, such as the production of gastric secretions facilitating food digestion. These positive results may be due to the high water and fiber content of mango, in addition to its antioxidants.

12- Asthma prevention
People who consume foods that contain beta-carotene, such as mango, have a lower risk of developing asthma.

Source: https://www.therapeutes.com/ma-sante/bienfaits-mangue

Extracts from mango tree organs (Mangifera indica L., Anacardiaceae) show potential for use in pharmaceutical applications. The aim of this study is to contribute to a better understanding of the therapeutic virtues of the mango tree in Burkina Faso. Ethnobotanical surveys were conducted using questionnaires among phytotherapists in three regions of Burkina Faso (Centre-Ouest, Hauts-Bassins and Cascades). The results were obtained from 45 surveyed phytotherapists. These phytotherapists are represented by 79% men and 21% women. The age group between 31 and 40 years is the most represented, at 32.41%, and 59.25% of the surveyed phytotherapists are unschooled. The results obtained allowed for the identification of diseases commonly treated with mango tree organs. Moreover, the leaves of common mango varieties (Mangot vert and sabre) are particularly used in medicinal preparations. Decoction is the most requested preparation method and remedies are administered orally (100%). A pharmacological study should allow for the incorporation of extracts from mango tree organs into food supplements to treat certain diseases.

source: journals.openedition.org/vertigo/39346

https://natura-sounds.com/en/products/%f0%9f%8e%a7-chant-medicinale-de-la-mangifera-indica-l-manguier-429-62-hz-h20-30-minutes
